For continuous pads, unroll and lay them out along the length of the rail support surface prior to installing the rail. For discontinuous pads, ensure that each piece's position is measured accurately so that they fit precisely under the pieces of rail.


Tip 3: Check Surface Preparation


The under-surface of the Almohadilla De Riel must be free from rust, oil, or debris, and smooth and clean. Any surface irregularities can undermine pad performance by focusing stress points.


The concrete surface or base plate may be so uneven that it needs correction prior to installation to ensure that the pad may work according to design.


Tip 4: Control Compression During Installation


Proper compressing must be performed to engage the pad's cushioning system without over-compressing. Over-compression can lead to loss of elasticity, while under-compression can bring in instability.


When tightening the rails, tighten the clips to manufacturer-specified torque levels such that the pad is at the intended thickness and resilience.


Tip 5: Take into Account Environmental Conditions
